QoS

Ellen Simonetti was a flight attendant (air hostess, stewardess, airchick) for Delta Airlines Anonymous Airlines. She’s cute, 183 cm tall (yikes! :), eloquent in writing, keeps a blog, posted her legs on the ‘net and got fired.I haven’t seen the official statement from Delta, but i guess they weren’t too happy about the pics of Queen of Sky in “uniform”, in non-sanctioned poses. And, mind you, those pics are not rude. They aren’t even very naughty. Well, just a bit. Enough to give her previous employer shakes.
Unlike me, Ellen (or rather, her blog alter ego Queen of Sky) was popular even before getting sacked by her employer, so now she has massive support from fans and media, including the BBC (which is where i caught the story). Anyway it’s nifty and i hope another airline picks her up. It’s crap being thrown out for doing the right thing. ((reading that sentence again, i realize that my blog hasn’t become that much popular, even after i got fired. well duh.)
And while we’re on the subject of QoS, i installed the US firmware 3.01.3 on my Non-US Linksys WRT54g. It didn’t blow up, and in fact i now have a menu QoS on the web interface, which is a feature i need for Internet telephony or VoIP. Sadly, it’s far from satisfactory. If there’s any other bandwidth intensive (read: bittorrent) traffic going on, the outgoing voice signal will jitter. The incoming sound shows no artifacts, though. Maybe i need to install OpenWRT on it instead…
And while we’re on the subject of Queen, BBC also notes that Queen has started selling one hundred of their own bootlegs, downloadable from their site. Good move. Now let’s see how quickly those head out on the pirate2pirate network along with Eminem’s Encore and Snoop Dogg’s R&G.
If you want to listen to some free (gratis/libre) rap, get the Wired CD. From the 9th of November, the whole CD will be free to download from Creative Commons. Now there!
