Photo shuffle

Well well well, it seems like my question has been answered. Apple has updated the iPods and lowered the prices. Battery life has improved, they say, but the long longed kick i’ve been waiting for is a ditty little accessory available in March called the Camera Connector, through which you can dump pictures from your digital camera straight to the iPod photo.OK, so why didn’t they include this feature on an iPod Photo, which supposedly would be targeted at people who take photos, when even an inkjet printer can receive pictures from a camera today? Beats me.

Anyways, the 4G iPod mini at usd249 now is a 6G iPod mini for usd249 or a 4G mini for usd199. The Photo line changes from 40G@usd499 to 30G@usd349 and the 60G model drops from usd599 to usd449, a hefty drop indeed. This places the 30G Photo at a price between the 20G “classic” (at 299) and the 40G “classic” (which goes for 399). Essentially, you get a colour screen thrown in at no extra cost. Nifty.
