Four minutes of fame

There’s a radio show, Rogues’ Gallery, each Friday morning between too-damn-early and ten o’clock Finnish time on the progressively oriented Internet radio station The Dividing Line. It’s not just for the music or the show’s really nice host Frans that i listen; The Dividing Line also has an IRC channel where a cadre of listeners convene during the broadcast. At times, it can get pretty hysterical. Last friday was one of those times, and i would not be writing this if i wasn’t one of those to blame. By request (and pursuation), i got Frans to play Kuha., one particularly atypical rock outfit who sound something not quite unlike a mix of King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Rammstein and some very large and nasty industrial machinery gone haywire on unsuspecting cattle. Caveat: Kuha. (which is finnish for Zander. –a rather unattractive fish–) sing in finnish. Solution: yours truly translates the song live on IRC, both unprepared and without the finnish lyrics in front of me. It was … insanely insane and both my fingers and brain hurt after "Tohtori Krabolan telekineettinen testilaboratorio" was over :). You can check the outer side from the Rogues’ Gallery archives — offer open until friday — or tune in for the next one on both ogg and irc for a rematch!
