Somebody wants me (rewrite)

What a nice end to a working week. At work i get some things done that have bothered me (and my boss) for some time. And at home, a girl from UNV rings me and ask if i want to take an IT manager job in Liberia :I. Six months, no extension, at the electoral commision.
Damn, this stirs things up in me! Of course i want to go! Liberia just recently got Africa’s first female president, which is a historical thing. But this time the family has grown by one, and Liberia certainly doesn’t sound like a family duty station (i admit, i didn’t ask). And there are two courses that i’m an assistant on at the University, which go ’til May.
I politely declined the offer, and said i won’t be available until June (and silently hoped they’d offer a family duty station then). But it was nice they called me. It feels good to still be in the loop.
