Yup. Lu’Olo and José Ramos-Horta will face each other the second and final round of the Timor-Leste presidential elections on the 9th of May.
Would be nice to have a good commentary on the situation and some what-ifs. What if José RH became president? He’s a competent figure and the outside world knows of him. He can talk to the locals and the international community. But he’s been in power for some time, and while stability is good, the Timorese may thirst for some change. Francisco “Lu’Olo” Guterres may be a fresh front figure, even if he’s been in the corridors of power for some time. Anway, i know too little of the backgrounds to give a decent commentary but i would surely like to read one.
