Usability Nestor Jakob Nielsen today posted a fatwā [0] regarding the order of OK and Cancel buttons in native applications and web apps. The short version is “Don’t sweat it, and stick to platform specs“.
The specs, of course, depend on the platform: The KDE and Windows usability guidelines say OK first, then Cancel, while the [...]

Hanterbarhet. Hmmm….!

I am running a connector from Outlook to MSN/Live Messenger so that i can read ignore my Live Hotmail both over the web and on my Outlook. But alas, there was a bug.

Mobile phones have been used by businesses since their inception late last century. In fact, mobile phones were first payable (i would have said affordable, but that wasn’t always the case) by businesses and their high paid execs and sales guys, for utility and show-off. In the mid 90’s the early adopters caught the cell [...]

I recently had the opportunity to test drive the rather impressive clunk of hardware that is the PDA/Smartphone Toshiba Portégé G900 on a sort of a self-imposed service gig for our CEO. To make a long story short, his G900 had crashed so badly that it only showed the “pills and rainbows” welcome screen and [...]

In an unexpected visit to the 21st Century, Jakob Nielsen hails such AJAXy finesses as tabs, and how they should be used The Right Way.
And in a related, but wholly unsurprising posting, LukeW discusses the tabs as how they evolved on Amazon. There’s the horrifying example of fifteen tabs in two rows and the [...]

Well at least i hope so. So i proudly present thee, my Release Candidate One.
