Blatant ad ahead. Or possibly a very nifty deal. The takeaway: Amazon/UK has Marillion’s new album on pre-order for £8.99. And it’s a double album. You have been warned. Now comes the longer text.

Marillion originally sold their new (double) album Happiness is the road only through their own web site, since going through the normal retail channels usually was just a hassle and not a very well paying one either.

Much to everybody’s surprise and after having sold a nice stack of Happiness, the band was approached by their former record company EMI who asked if they perhaps could distribute the album for the band anyway.

Or maybe it was just cunning negotiations and tactics, what do i know. I’d rather be naïve and surprised.

Anyways, i just got some spam from Amazon telling that the album is for pre order with a release on the 2^nd of February. It just seems like somebody got something wrong, because the list price for the album is nine pounds — a decent price for a single album — but the track list is for the “whole” double album, not just volume 1.

So if you haven’t got the album yet, pre-order while it’s cheap!
