Marillion Weekend 2009, here i come!  Pope Robin Laurén has been registered, i’ll be sharing a crib with Frans Keylard, his brother and a friend of his, and we still have two beds to spare. Anyone want to join in? Oh yes, and the joint has a sauna, of course.

I’ve been waiting for this since… well for quite a bloody number of years anyway!

Lucy (official Marillion evangelista) has posted that the next Marillion Weekend will be on the 20^th of March 2009 in Holland. Same site as last year, Center Parcs Port Zélande, Ouddorp, Holland.

Om ett år vill jag vara här.

People who know me, will know that Marillion is my favourite band. It’s not just the music, it’s that, combined with the response of the band and the affection of the fans, that make a whole (much like working here with the UN isn’t just the job –one not very unlike the one i had in Finland– but the colleagues, the all-encompassing dedication, the environment and simply the intent). This year, like three years before, Marillion produced an intense fan-happening in England called The Marillion Weekend. And of course, music was only one reson why 2700 fans convened at 11.–14. March this year. There’s a story in The Independent that quite nicely covers the weekend.This year, like previous years, i couldn’t attend. This year, i’m on the other side of the world. Previous years, there have been assorted reasons (like having a daughter for me not being able to attend. But One Fine Day, i will. Until then, i read the stories, look at the pictures and listen to the music.
